About the Speaker: Dr. Kiki Sanford is a scientist who loves media, and believes in its potential to improve scientific understanding, awareness, and curiosity. She is VP of PR for the Association of Science Communicators, and is focused on growing the organization, and developing the professional science communication community through education and networking opportunities. She is one of the co-founders of this non-profit and was integral in launching the organization’s annual science communication conference (known by the name Science Talk) in 2017, which now draws hundreds of science communication trainees and professionals every year. She is also the host and producer of the This Week in Science (TWIS) Podcast, and has a PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology, and over 10 years experience producing and hosting radio and television programming with companies such as PLoSOne, WNBC, and The Science Channel/Discovery Communications.
